Career Highlights

Over 15 Years of Engineering Leadership at Chevron
Since joining Chevron immediately after graduating in 2007, Tesia has grown her skill set through hands-on work at major refining facilities, offshore production assets, and large-scale operational environments. Her longevity at the company reflects both her technical strength and her dedication to supporting safe, efficient energy operations.

Advanced Flare & Relief System Design Expertise
For over seven years, Tesia has devoted her career to specialty work in flare and relief design, handling the complex calculations and simulations required to ensure safe responses to large-scale pressure events. She has conducted relief valve sizing for vessels and tanks, performed flare header modeling, and delivered analytical insights using dynamic simulation tools.

Strong Background in Process Safety Management
Tesia has extensive experience implementing and supporting Process Safety Management (PSM) programs. She has worked across a variety of units and facilities to ensure compliance and to improve the safety and reliability of refinery and offshore operations through thorough analysis and design review.

Experience Across Multiple Engineering Roles
Her career includes positions as Facility Engineer, Process Engineer, MCP Process Engineer, Relief Engineer, and ultimately Relief Senior Engineer. Across these roles, she has managed small project scopes, optimized refinery processes, improved systems reliability, and supported capital project execution.

TECHNICAL SPECIALTIES

Relief Valve Sizing & Flare Header Engineering
Tesia brings extensive expertise in relief load calculations, vessel and tank valve sizing, and the design and evaluation of flare networks.

Dynamic & Transient Analysis Expertise
She is skilled in using advanced modeling tools that replicate real-time operational behaviors, allowing teams to anticipate pressure surges, flow imbalances, and emergency relief conditions.

Process Design for Complex Facilities
From developing process flow schemes to supporting design for upstream and downstream environments, Tesia has hands-on experience improving unit performance, developing equipment specifications, and contributing to long-term operational strategies.
Outdoor Adventure & Exploration
Tesia’s love for the outdoors is reflected in her frequent hiking, backpacking, and snowboarding adventures. Whether exploring rugged mountain terrain or local Bay Area trails, she values time spent in nature as a balance to her analytical career.
