For more than fifteen years, Tesia Dobrydnia has built a career defined by dedication, expertise, and consistent growth within the oil and gas industry. As a Chemical Engineer working for Chevron since 2007, she has contributed to numerous facilities, projects, and engineering initiatives. Her technical interests, combined with her passion for exploring the outdoors, create a balanced professional and personal life that reflects her commitment to both excellence and fulfillment.
Tesia’s engineering journey began at Oregon State University, where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering in 2007. The rigorous curriculum prepared her with the foundational knowledge required for complex industrial environments. Soon after graduation, she joined Chevron, beginning a long and impactful career that would span multiple regions, facility types, and engineering responsibilities.
From the start, Tesia immersed herself in the diverse challenges of the oil and gas industry. Her portfolio includes work in process design, process safety management, and small project management, each of which requires precision, strong analytical skills, and an understanding of complex operational systems.
Her engineering experience has allowed her to support both offshore assets and refinery operations. Working in upstream and downstream environments gave her a broad technical perspective on the industry’s operational needs. Whether troubleshooting existing equipment, designing process improvements, or ensuring safety compliance, Tesia brought consistency and insight to every assignment.
One of the most defining chapters of Tesia’s career has been her seven-year focus on flare and relief system design. This specialized area includes:
Her work ensures that complex facilities remain safe, reliable, and compliant with rigorous industry regulations. As a Relief Senior Engineer at Chevron, she plays an important role in evaluating relief systems that protect equipment and people during pressure-related events.
Over the years, Tesia has held several engineering titles, including:
Each role expanded her technical knowledge and deepened her understanding of facility operations. Working in locations such as Alaska, Louisiana, and California, as well as engaging in international assignments, exposed her to different operational challenges and strengthened her adaptability.
Today, Tesia resides in the San Francisco Bay Area, where she continues her engineering career at Chevron’s Richmond Refinery. When she’s not analyzing technical data or supporting facility operations, she enjoys renovating spaces around her home, reading, and relaxing with movies or television.
Outside of engineering, Tesia maintains a personal passion for the outdoors. Hiking, backpacking, snowboarding, and camping allow her to reset and reconnect with nature. These activities reflect the same curiosity and sense of exploration that have propelled her professional success.
